Loving this new flash for my Fujifilm camera. It makes a difference in my photos. I’ve taken some portraits and it illuminates the subject beautifully. Wasn’t working consistently when I first got it so I took it off and put it on again and now works great. Excited to take more pictures with it.

Amazing flash for the price, works perfectly and syncs with my OM1 mk2 beautifully. The focusing light works great for macro photography. Sturdy but light and relatively compact!

In my hand, it looks and feels as good as my flagship OEM Canon or Nikon flashes.The build feels solid. The metal hot shoe and smooth dial wheel add to the premium feel. The touchscreen LCD is bright and easy to use, though it sometimes reacts to accidental touches. The flash head rotates 135 degrees left and 180 degrees right, which helps with bounce flash setups. The built-in bounce card and diffuser work well. When the diffuser is used, the zoom locks to 14mm.I tested the recycle time and found it to be just under 2 seconds at full power. Manual power control is very precise, adjustable from 1/256 to full in 0.1 or 0.3 stop increments. My Sekonic L358 flash meter confirmed the output accuracy. However, the maximum power is slightly lower than that of flagship Nikon or Canon flashes, about 0.8 to 0.9 stops less. The measured GN is 26m at ISO 100 with a 50mm zoom setting.The flash uses a 7.2V 2200mAh lithium battery with USB-C charging at 1.6A. Note that the USB-C port on the flash itself is only for firmware updates; it cannot be used for charging. The LED front light is not very useful for modelling when bounce flash is used.Off-camera performance is impressive. The optical trigger works well in manual mode, and the modelling light functions off-camera too. I successfully used it as a wireless slave to my Godox iT30Pro-C. The Godox X Wireless System lets me control the V480S remotely, even though it is designed for Sony, and my controller flash is for Canon. This cross-brand compatibility is a major advantage over OEM flashes.V480S’s wireless high-speed sync worked flawlessly outdoors at 1/8000s, f/3.5, ISO100 with Godox iT30Pro-C as a controller on my Canon 5D mk2. The flash evenly lit the subject while dimming the background, even in bright sunlight.Overall, the Godox V480S is a premium flash built with the full Godox X Wireless system. It will protect your investment even though you are switching to a different camera brand in the future. With this Sony flash, you can reuse it with your future Canon gear wirelessly if you work with manual flashes. Even HSS works well as long as you stay in the Godox ecosystem. I am very pleased with this order.
