The magnetic contact is great. The clip is very strong for backpack straps. I tested out on my car visor to compare to another clip mount I got. This clamp had a good bite on the visor. It was very sturdy. The only cons I have is with the ball mount and the locking mechanism for it. Even when in the lock position the ball mount has play I can still adjust the camera. Even when I’ve turned it enough to get tension. So the lock pin turns. So when you flip it you also turn it to create and loosen tension on the ball mount. Then you flip it back to lock the ball mount in place. Too much tension makes it hard to flip the pin to lock position. So I gave it just enough tension so I could lock it in place. But I even with just enough the ball mount still has play to it. I worry over time that the tension mechanism will fail cause of the play. So far it’s great doesn’t move if isn’t touched. I won’t be using it for the car but it was a nice test to do. I will be using it a lot more for backpacks when traveling and also the magnetic mount aspect of it. The quick clamp feature and magnetic option makes this design very versatile when traveling.

The media could not be loaded. This magnetic backpack mount clip by MINIFOCUS is the perfect solution to mount my GoPro and other action cameras out in the field. It's primarily designed for use as a backpack mount clip, but it does have a magnetic back so you can use it on any metal surface, like a fence or a pole.The clip is made of a durable hard plastic and metal screws. The part that clamps down to the 360 swivel part is plastic and is quite small, so it may be prone to breaking if you are not careful when tightening it. You don't need to tighten it that much in order to clamp it down and have it hold steady.It's very easy to use. I use it specifically for my GoPro because it's designed for it. I clip it to my backpack whenever I go hiking and it works perfectly. I've also attached my Insta360 cam using the 1/4" screw and it works great for that too!The interior teeth of the clamp is made of plastic and if you try and use the clamp on hard material such as glass or a hard countertop surface, the clamp may slip out! So just be mindful of where you're clamping it so that you know it won't slip out.Overall, this is a very versatile piece of gear and provides many options for mounting my GoPro and action cameras. It's a very good value for the money and I recommend this product.

I don't think I'll ever have enough camera mounts.Way back in the day, I built something very similar to this... it involved duct tape and zip ties.This one is much, much nicer than the one I made.I especially like that it's dual-function... magnet as well as clip.The magnet feels moderately strong.On a refrigerator, it was rock solid and held a large phone easily.However, on a metal wire shelf or metal pole, where you don't have 100% surface contact... the phone is a bit too much weight.I think a slightly stronger magnet could expand such possibilities.The clip is very nice.I think the clip is targeted at backpack straps and such... but I mostly like that it opens wide enough to easily clip onto a 3/4" shelf.It has little serrated teeth inside to grip with... they are plastic and not rubberized.I'll have to keep that in mind to avoid clipping it onto any delicate surfaces.There is also a little notch in one side of the clip.I do not know for sure... possibly for handlebars? To allow a cord or wire to pass through? HmmmThe connection between the camera and the clip is a swivel ball joint, with its own tightening pin.The rest tilts the camera using the familiar mechanism you see on most phone mounts.The one I ordered was for the general camera mount, with the 1/4" screw post.This clip mount does not include one, but I plan on using it with a phone clip from another selfie stick.If you're reading this, you already know that you want one of these.
