Makes my 20 year old Craftsman garage opener SMART!

The ismartgate Mini with wireless sensor has converted my old dipswitch type Garage door opener into a SMART Garage Door opener! My ½ HP Craftsman garage door opener is over 23 years old and still going strong. I didn’t want to replace it just to get a smart garage opener, so the ismartgate Mini was the solution I was looking for.Things I like about the ismartgate Mini:- Compatible with phone apps like Google Home and Google Assistant- Kit comes complete with Hub, wireless sensor, batteries, wire to connect garage opener to hub andtwo-sided tape.- Good online support and videos, with a compatibility list to find if your garage opener is supported.- Strong connection to my 2.4GHZ WIFI network.- Ismartgate Mini hub supports USB to Ethernet connection (USB to Ethernet adapter not included)- The ismartgate App helps with purchase of extra equipment and the initial setup of your hub and wireless sensor. Once the setup is complete the app provides access, status, and your garage doors activity history.- The wireless sensor that mounts on the garage door also has a temperature sensor built-in and provide the current temperature of the garage/door from the ismartgate iOS/Android app.Things that I didn’t like:- The ismartgate app on my Android tablet was much easier to use and connect the ismartgate hub to my 2.4GHz WIFI network then the same ismartgate app on my iPhone. After the hub and wireless sensor was setup the ismartgate app on my iPhone works great with the ismartgate garage opener with no issues.- The provided two-sided tape is useless with very little grip to hold up the wireless sensor let alonethe hub.The hub has a recess for a screw mount like a wall clock and I ended up using one screw and stronger two- sided tape to attach the hub to my Craftsman garage door opener. I used screws (not provided it the kit) to install the wireless sensor to my garage door.It’s nice to just say “Hey Google, open my garage door” and now have my 20 year old garage door opener do it.

Four and a half stars.I've been using the iSmartGate Mini for over two years. It works great, allowing me to open, close, and monitor my garage door from inside the house or when I'm away. It just works and is 99% worry-free.The only time I have had issues is when their notifications server has a problem and the unit fails to send out notifications. I have to email support and they fix it. I'm not sure why they don't monitor it better and when there's an issue they fix it immediately. This problem has arisen two or three times in the time I've had the unit and the support team is quick to solve the issue. Understand, when these issues arise, the app and the opener all work fine, you just don't get a notification on your phone/watch that the door opened/closed/remained open.The house I moved into had super-high-end openers from a company called Marantec (they are absolutely silent). There are limited options to make their openers "smart". iSmartGate Mini is probably the cheapest way to go and I'd be surprised if anything else would be as solid as this.

Setup my ismartgate Mini Smart Garage Door Opener few months back and it works like a charm.I have a Marantec garage opener and it seems iSmartGate smart opener is the only 'affordable' one to making the existing garage opens smart and available over the air. Few other app were pretty high priced.The iPhone app is awesome , very basic and functional as I got the Mini version.Integration with Alexa is a little pain, the setup with Alexa has ghosted me more than few times.Had the re-integrate again. I prefer using the iSmartGate dedicated app.Overall a good purchase given Marantec support is very limited in some of the other cheaper automated smart garage openers.

Recently built a new home with a garage door opener (Hoorman) that wasn't compatible with my former product. After searching and inquiring, I landed on the iSmartGate Mini. Not very technologically savvy, so I spent a lot of time going back and forth via e-mail with Sam at the company. He was incredibly helpful and patient as he guided me through the processes of getting it set up and working well with my new door opener. I'm finally there and very happy. I would suggest the company allow phone call conversations. We could have saved potentially hours of time having to wait for e-mail exchanges. Also, the product was kinda picky on passwords, but we got through that. I am very happy with the product and its operation, and I'm really grateful to Sam for staying with me through the process.

Remote access not working

I just get a "Not found" error on the remote access page, it will connect to the device but the device seems dead.

Bought this only for HomeKit. Their website says HomeKit all over the place and Apple even links to this company, but THIS DEVICE SPECIFICALLY doesn’t appear to support it, even though the instructions on the App tell you to setup HomeKit.

After researching compatible devices for our Marantec garage door opener, we decided on the ismartgate Mini. I reached out to the company beforehand to clarify the differences between models, and their support team responded promptly and helpfully. I ended up purchasing it on Amazon for the free 2-day shipping.Installation was straightforward using the app’s step-by-step instructions. We did run into a small issue (completely our fault), but support was quick to assist and got us back on track.I love the convenience of getting real-time notifications when the garage opens or closes, and being able to control it remotely from my phone is a game-changer. No more worrying if I left it open after leaving for work! It’s also great for accepting packages securely when we’re away, adding peace of mind and extra security.Fantastic product with even better customer support—highly recommended!

Easy installation

I am using the Hörmann Promatic 2 garage door and this was just the right thing for automating my garage door. Easy installation and the Ismartgate app is decent. I can use google voice to command it and also by thumbnails on my homescreen on my smartphone to open/close the door as well as geofencing thanks to IFTTT app. I can recommend this to anyone wanting to wifi-connect their garage door for easy and straightforward use.
