Lasted for about a year and then started to malfunction. Random shut offs. No logs in the SmartThings app. I’m convinced it was hardware related. In the trash I guess. Unreliable.

These things are small and work as advertised with the exception of integrating them to SmartThings hub. When I was adding them to SmartThings, the first one came up as music player. Removed and re added.Make sure you only plug in one plug at a time. After that one is added, mark it so you know its name.To add these plugs,1) Put the plug in discover mode, plug into power => press button on side for 5 seconds (until you get the BLUE light to flash quickly. This step took many tries to get the button to quickly flash BLUE.2) In the SmartThing app, go to Add Device => Scan nearbyYou may get a message saying it found the device or the light on the CMAR plug will turn RED. Not quite the normal process.3) In the SmartThings app, go to DEVICES and you will see the plug(s) there. Select the plug and edit the name. I suggest you put the name on the plug (marking pen) as they all look the same.

With SmartThings, just hit add device and search nearby. Press the button on the plug and it's done. Don't search for the manufacturer. Just plug-in, search, press and boom! Response is fast, but I'm not sure about the range. I have an Aeotec ZigBee range extender which corrected all connectivity issues with other devices. My network is primarily Z-wave S2 long range, but these were cheap so I don't care much if they fail.I am using a 35w draw LED light on each of these without an issue. I can't speak to large loads running through these. I would not pump more than 5 amps (600 watts @ 120v) through it. A printed circuit board will simply not handle that without melting. There is no way this could handle 10 amps for very long. If you stick to LED lights and smaller load items, you should not have an issue.

I’m got these for use with a SmartThings hub and found that they were so easy to pair. Plug them into the outlet and they will immediately be discoverable in the SmartThjngs app where they can be setup with one click and you’re done. They work exactly as advertised and are much cheaper than competitors (often half the price). I’ve used several other brands and these paired easier than any including SmartThings own outlets and they are just as responsive when manually controlled from the app or as part of an automation.The only downside I see is the indicator light is fairly bright. I use one in a bedroom and it throws a bright glow in a darkened room. I used a bit of electrical tape to cover the light and problem solved.I highly recommend these and I’m looking for something else to automate so I have an excuse to buy more!

I am so pleased to find these smart plugs. They connected to my SmartThings hub so fast and are working great. I also prefer the shape over the previous plug I was using as it is much smaller and less bulky.
