Good looking pans……but.

Bought these pans early December. Look great, easy to clean, non stick, but, and the big but is that they will chip. We’ve been extremely careful using them. No dishwasher, no scrubbing, even bought separates for the fry pans. The problem is that hard anodize is very hard, so we are finding that the lids are chipping the coating away around the lip and top of the sauce pans. As most cooks will know, when you cook potatoes or bring anything to a boil with the lid on, the lid rattles and pops open to let the pressure out. We assume that this is has caused the chipping on the lip of the sauce pans. So, great looking pans, but be aware that they can chip. Also, you cannot tap a spoon or spatula on the rim as you would with a stainless steel pan, or this too could easily chip the lip of the pan. As a previous reviewer noted, the warranty is next to useless, as it specifically excludes this type of damage.

After researching similar products, I landed on this set for several reasons, first for me is Quality to include expected longevity, ability to use a dishwasher, able to withstand multiple utensils, then was base metal and design, and finally the competitive price.

This is a great set of cookware. The induction-ready feature makes them much more useful on a variety of cooking surfaces than normal 'plain' hard anodized aluminum pans. I really like the Agave Blue color. It adds a touch of brightness to the kitchen. I used the cookware on both smooth-top electric and induction stoves. They should work equally well on gas or open element electric stoves as well. The pans are designed for even heating and cooking and worked well on every surface I tried.The hard anodized aluminum finish makes the exterior easy to clean and the ceramic interior is both durable and easy to clean. As with any non-stick cookware, it won't stand up to the highest heat and it lasts longer with wood or nylon utensils. For searing, use stainless steel or cast iron-- for everything else this will work wonderfully. By description, this cookware is dishwasher safe, but so far I've been able to clean with a damp paper towel, a drop of soap, and a quick rinse. The ceramic coating is very smooth and I've found it works well for low-fat cooking. In most cases I wipe the pan with a paper towel with a bit of oil or melted butter and the non-stick coating does the rest. I've also used for "pan-frying" with a couple of tablespoons of oil when required. The 12.5 inch skillet makes an excellent fried potato and onion hash!So far the set has done everything I've asked it to do very well. I especially like the sauce pans being a bit deeper for the volume. The 3-qt saucepan is the perfect size for a quick Mac-and-Cheese, The Dutch oven/stewpot is a great size able to manage browning stew meat then simmering for a delicious vegetable stew. It also works well for browning ground meat and spices for a bit of Tec-Mex chili. It is convenient that the lid for the stockpot is the perfect size for the 10" skillet as well.Though it isn't cheap, this set should last a long time and has the necessary pieces for most kitchens. It would be a great gift for someone starting out or maybe a house warming gift for a family member or close friend.

These pans are excellent. Great even cooking, easy clean up and they look great. The non stick surface is smooth and effortlessly functional.
