Lots of umami and rich flavor, particularly with the spicy beef. Both have a great chewiness, with the extra vegetables and protein. These are super easy to fix, adding some hot water and mixing a little. I used the office Keurig coffee maker to add 4 ounces of hot water.The seaweed is great for a hot day, with rich pleasant broth and lots of green. This is a very low calorie soup, but the seaweed soup has 23% of my daily recommended salt requirement.The spicy soup is my favorite, with excellent balanced heat with a significant kick. I liked the slices of mushroom and vegetables, providing extra interest and flavor in addition to chewiness. The spicy soup has a considerably more moderate (low) level of salt, which is great.Both have great Korean flavor and the convenience of freeze dried soup and vegetables. Great addition to the pantry shelf, especially for a cool day or any day hungry for something Korean.

Each of these ten packs has a compressed rectangular prism of instant soup. As best I can tell from the directions, which are all in Korean, you heat approximately 170mL of water and drop the disc in, dissolve and stir. These produce a thin, almost miso-like soup that is fairly tasty. The spicy soup was actually labeled spicy beef soup, and it did taste like beef, with little bits of beef, presumably freeze-dried, floating in it. I liked this one the best. The seaweed soup was excellent as well, with a lot of seaweed in it. I probably didnt let it fully rehydrate, and so the seaweed had a little bit of texture to it that I enjoyed. Both would be great for backpacking, so all you really need is to heat water. That said, they both could have used a little extra salt, or could be a great base for adding noodles or other ingredients to flesh out the soup. As a negative, they are fairly small, 170mL is basically half of a bowl, so if you were making a larger meal, one packet won't cut it.

These are really easy to make, just add hot water and you’re good to go in a couple minutes. The flavor is solid for freeze dried soup, especially the seaweed soup, which I liked more. The spicy soup is still good and works well as a side depending on what I’m eating. Great to keep on hand for quick meals, lazy days, or when you want something warm without cooking.

These freeze dried soups prepare really easily by simply adding 4-6oz hot water to the block of instant soup. A couple stirs, and the block will dissolve into what I consider to be very tasty soup! I was honestly surprised by the quality. I personally favor the Korean spicy variation. It is lightly spicy, savory, and beefy in flavor. It is not overly salty, but the intensity of the flavor can be modified by adding more or less water. You need to be a fan of seaweed to appreciate the other variation. The seaweed pieces are substantial compared to what is usually paper thin bits in other brands. The seaweed in here is chewy and the soup lightly salty.Overall, these are a super convenient way to produce savory broths that can be used as a base when you're in a time crunch. The individual packets make this portable for taking on camping. Adding protein like chicken or tofu, chopped green onions, cilantro, and bok choy elevates the soup to more of a meal. At approximately $2 a packet of soup, I think this is a fair price.

Both the Seaweed and Spicy Beef soups are fantastic, though I really enjoyed the seaweed one much more. The flavors and textures made me feel like I was having a much more substantial meal than what a bowl of leaves floating in liquid may suggest. The seaweed has a really nice chew to it, and the broth has a deep, complex flavor, that seemed to warm me from the inside from the first bite to the last. The spicy beef soup is no slouch, but it's a bit one-note to begin with but improves as you eat it. There's a few floaty veggies and beef bits that really hit the spot when you get them. Overall, both are excellent and worth trying.
