The ComfyTemp products appear to actually provide healing benefits. We purchase this item and one of their knee therapy units...both seem to be healing and repairing the areas of our bodies they're intended for. My wife uses the knee unit ever day on both legs and hs become more mobile with much less pain. I use the shoulder unit more than she does because of the damage to my shoulders from various issues. The battery charges quickly and has a long use-time once it's charged. I can't speak for other, but we certainly recommend this to our relatives and friends.

Okay. I just got this yesterday and took it for a test drive. I have chronic long bicep tendonitis combined with calcific tendonitis. The pain during a flare is nothing short of pure relentless and horric agony that lasts 3-5 days when it occurs. So I purchased this to promote healing, reduce inflammation and to have during flare to try and gain even temporary relief.Pros:Easy to put on and get firmly in place. You need to experiment with the straps to get the pressure and tension in the right places. For me, that's mostly on the front of my shoulder so I had to slide it around a little bit and do some adjustments but was able to get good firm pressure.You can operate it manually with the controls right on the brace. However, they may be a little awkward to reach with your other arm depending on how you have it situated. There is an app and it comes with a QR code. You can scan to download the app to your phone to operate the brace.The brace has good coverage. Like I said you can slide it forward, slide it back, pull it up a little farther and adjust the velcro on the straps to get it where you need it. It's a little clunky in terms of the brace itself. It's not just a neprene sleeve with lights. It is thick in spots and has a natural contour shape built in that wraps up over shoulder.Lights/heat: this brace does not have any heating elements like a heating pad. So if you're looking for Hell's inferno hot, you may be disappointed. I was very leery because heat is very soothing and I wanted to be able to get comfort. What I found was that with the lights turned up on full intensity of 10, it emits a very warm soothing heat. For legal reasons. The app will warn you that turning it up to high intensity can cause Burns. I assure you unless you are extremely delicate, like a sheet of paper you probably won't burn but be careful nonetheless! Follow the instructions to test for sensitivity etc.Cons:there are different levels of light therapy and they are outlined in the little booklet you get with the brace. However, the different levels are not clearly available to you in the app. So don't lose the booklet. The app developers should really take the four different levels from a vertical row and put them horizontally so they can explain what each level is for healing versus information, healing with inflammation, etc.Bulky: I only mention this because for somebody thinking they're going to put this against their bare skin and put a shirt over it. You're going to need to size up on your clothing because it is bulky and wearing it over your clothing is less effective. This is not a "sport at least" brace. It's a treatment piece of equipment. This is not a problem for me but I felt it worth mentioning for others. You can see on photos the brace has substance. The middle section is a bit rigid and thicker.

While I understand the scientific principle behind the infrared and near infrared lights (it is NOT the heat), I was a bit skeptical because studies always say "more research is needed to confirm the benefits" or something similar. Since the price of this sleeve is about the same as one PT session, I decided to give it a try.I was diagnosed with a rotator cuff tear, bursitis and biceps tendonitis. All very painful. Two weeks of oral corticosteroids and NSAIDs helped with the pain, but the inflammation appeared not to subside. I also started PT. As a side comment, I also have psoriasis on several parts of my body, including the arms.I started using the sleeve with dual lights mode, at low intensity for 2 consecutive cycles of 20 minutes each (the sleeve is programmed to switch off after 20 minutes), one in the morning and one in the evening (so 4 cycles per day in total). After only the second day, I started feeling considerably less pain, and the redness and warmth caused by the inflammation improved noticeably. I was wondering if this was real or it was a result of what is called the "placebo effect." I cannot see inside my arm to verify if the tear, the bursitis and the tendonitis have improved, but what left no space for doubts was the psoriasis marks. They have almost disappeared on the arm on which I am using the sleeve, in contrast to the other arm. It is so noticeable, even my husband commented on it. So I do believe these lights work. PT is still required, but these lights have been a bigger help that the meds. I wish I had taken photos to post a "before" and "after" but I did not.After the second day I increased the intensity to medium and after the third day to high, without problems. To be noted is that the temperature will increase if one increases the intensity, so some people might find the "high" intensity too hot to bear. Then, just go back to Medium or Low. Also, the sleeve can be used with an app, but I am not using it.

Be carefulFollow directions exactly! It says to test it on your forearm to make sure that it's safe on your skin. I cannot recommend this step strongly enough. You must do this. As soon as I try it on my arm, it began to burn my skin. Left rings of burns sort of like a cigarette burn would be. I had to return it because of that. if I had actually put it on my body/shoulder, I don't know what kind of damage it could have done. so be careful and follow the testing procedure exactly. I hope it works for you.
