This works great with my old Crucial Multi Slot Reader. It's formatted in FAT 32, so it should work with vintage cameras. I was doing some research and there are issues with some SM cards. There are two flavors of cards, 5V and 3.3V. 5V cards have compatibility issues with readers and cameras. This is a 3.3V card, so you should be able to use it with modern card readers, and vintage cameras.This uses the Samsung K9F5608U0B-YCB0 chip. It's expensive for only 32MB, but I'm glad they still make them and they work.

This SM (SmartMedia) card is as generic as generic can possibly get.There's no label at all on the card, just a bare circuit board, nothing to even remind you how many megabytes it is.If it wasn't for the label on the anti-static shipping bag, you wouldn't know the storage capacity.The card works fine though.I have a Boss BR-532 digital multitrack recorder. It's a great recorder, and it uses these old obsolete SM memory cards. They are very hard to find new, and either new or used, they can be very expensive per megabyte.This card worked perfectly. I just slid it into the memory slot of the BR-532 and when I turned it on everything worked, it recognized the card immediately, I didn't even have to format it. You can't get any easier to use than that. I could start recording tracks right away.So despite its super generic appearance, the card works perfectly.It has a Samsung branded memory chip attached to a hole in the circuit board. It's just like the pictures in the listing, but for some reason I thought it would have some sort of covering. Even if it's just a sticker with the megabytes listed.It seems to me, the way the chip is connected to the circuit board is a little sketchy. I think you could accidentally poke it out of the card if you held it the wrong way.These chips are sensitive to static electricity too, that's why they ship it in an anti-static bag. Having the chip just hanging out in the open like it is, seems like it would be easy to accidently blow the chip with a static shock. But maybe that's just me.I would make it a point to handle this SM card very carefully, by the edges only.Overall, I have to say this thing works, and that's all that counts. It's a decent value, compared to what these SM cards are going for,..it's even a bargain. if you can even find them.This is the first time I've seen one brand new, that isn't NOS (new old stock).If you have an old device that uses SmartMedia cards, you have to get one somewhere or your device is just a paperweight.
