Right out of the box (well, the vacuum-sealed roll!).The medium-firm feel strikes the perfect balance: supportive enough for back sleepers like me, yet soft enough to cradle pressure points without causing discomfort. My overnight guests have all commented on how comfortable it is, and one even asked where I bought it!
