The specs for the printer read "Scanner - Sheetfed". Guess what? It does NOT have a scanner. If it wasn't such a pain now that it's set up at our remote location, I would return it. The remote staff are not the most computer savvy (ironic, right?) so they had to have the Geek Squad come in to hook it up. I'm sure many would not have that problem but if you're not very computer literate, it might be a challenge. BUT, it's an HP so the quality is really good and I expect it to be a workhorse.

This product is absolute garbage. Plain and simple, does not work out the box.Will print 1 page if you're lucky... eventually. If you send multiple pages to print... it will print one or two pages... and will print a random amount of copies. Example, you send pages 1 - 10 to print. I will print (1) Page 1 and (25 copies) of page 4...It is terrible. HP does not help. They say the printer is out dated, and they do not support it.They told me it does not work with Windows 11... or PDF documentsIt is absolutely insane... to spend $1600 for a broken product and be told to essentially piss off....

I purchased this product a few years ago. I've owned other large format printers and as a graphic designer you sometime need to do a large format print out for proofing and other things. The one thing you alway should remember with a large format printer is that you will have consumables. Not just your toner other parts, like fusing units and cleaning blades etc. I was looking for a deal and decided to try a refurbished printer. The printer works great, HOWEVER (This is not a negative so stay with me) when the product arrived it did not print out clean. As I mentioned large format printers have parts that will need to be replaced. I contacted the seller and GOT THE OWNER. Who apologies and admitted that they must have made a mistake and had a bad part in the printer. HE Immediately told me he was sending me a brand new replacement part. Within a day or two at most . The new part arrived, it was not packaged correctly. Before I could contact the seller, he contacted me to ask that he noticed that the part had arrived and was checking to see if all was good. I explained what happened. He was naturally flustered and apologized again. ( I got the impression that an employee was going to get a talking to.) Anyway, told me he would personally get me the right part and expedited the shipping at his expense. Next day it arrived and all was good. I view the whole experience as positive. I know that when you buy an older refurbished product, there's a chance something could go wrong. But this company did a great job in making sure everything worked out. They are worth checking out.

It's heavy, and expensive and kinda primitive. 192 MB of RAM. That's megabytes. A tiny dot matrix interface with overburdened buttons like an old VCR. And only 600 dpi. And only one paper tray (bought a second 500 sheet for $500).It does what it's supposed to. Prints big and fast enough. Better after you install a 256 MB DIMM into its empty slot. Does PCL6 and postscript.Toner costs as much as the printer, although it comes with some.I guess it's reasonable and I'm happy. Would like another more modern option, but it gets the job done diligently.Oh yeah, it's immensely heavy. Don't set this up alone.Did I mention no 802.11? Just Ethernet, probably 100 base-TX. The specs are ancient. Pick up a small wifi bridge with an Ethernet port to connect it to your network. Maybe there's a jet-direct card for that, but it's not worth it.

BEWARE, OLD PRINTER BEING SOLD BY SPACEBOUND AS CURRENT TECHNOLOGY.I was surprised to learn from HP Support that the laserjet CP5225N that I purchased new in October, is in fact new old stock originating from 2010. HP Support informed me that the reason that I am having difficulty printing my files (38 Mb .pdf with photos and text on 11"x17" format) was that the outdated laserjet that I purchased, thinking that it was new technology, was in fact outdated for my purposes. I am an architect and have the need to be able to reliably print on 11"x17" format CAD drawings converted to .pdf and MS Publisher documents converted to pdf. THIS PRINTER CAN NOT HANDLE PRINTING MY FILES.
