I’d never installed any banana plug on speaker cable before so I was a bit nervous how attaching these would work out. I ended up being pleasantly surprised how easy it was—it’s tedious work (but that’s the case for all banana plugs) but installing was easy; I put these on 14 gauge wire.There’s two things you need to make attaching banana plugs easily: a) a QUALITY pair of wire strippers, and b) a screwdriver with a precision bit that fits the flat bead screws perfectly—any computer/electronic repair kit should work.Lastly just wanted to mention an installation tip: make sure you slide the red/black plastic shield onto your wire before screwing on the plugs, that way you can easily slide the shield up over the connector.

These banana plugs are perfect for those cramped quarters where straight plugs would protrude too far. Quality seems good and they fit well on 12 gauge speaker wire. Easy to install, they also seem very secure. Reccommended!

Purchase several packs of these plugs for various uses. The mini-screw terminals are bit fickle to work with (you need a tiny flat head screwdriver) but they hold very well and the dual screw design provides good conductivity. The plastic sleeves are very nice in tight working spaces, like the back of a multi-channel receiver, to prevent accidental shorting from the plugs touching one another. The plugs are a tight fit, so may be best for situations where you want the plugs to stay in place.

Like others have written, I need to fit my AV receiver in a shallow-depth cabinet. These work very well for that purpose, especially after I cut my speaker cables on a bias so that the plugs can all fit (see photos). I am using 14 AWG stranded cables. I bought a 10-pack and happy to report that I had no missing screws or loose connections. The plugs fit snugly in my AVR's and speakers' binding posts.Bonus: My speakers' binding posts are angled upward and work best with either bare wires or spade connectors (see photos). Straight banana plugs would stick up at an awkward angle. These right angle plugs solve that problem.

I originally put the (non-tinned) braided speaker wire into the binding post of my Klipsch Forte speakers, tightened it a bit, to get up and running quickly. When I loosened them to put these on, I realized I had chopped the braided cable to bits with the screw terminals (the edges are cut sort of sharp). So by using these they not only look great, I am less worried about a stray wire bit shorting something out.They look very nice too. It helps the speaker cable run lay nicely too.The right angle (assuming they work in your setup) helps in that you have less projection straight out the back. For example, on my Sonos Amp or Receiver it keeps it tidy.When I tighten the set screws, they have just the right amount of grab, and didn't strip out. I will probably tin the wire next time I redo the connectors.I really like that they have insulation around the base.I'm using 14 gauge braided. You could go bigger or probably a bit smaller (thinner) if you wanted.I had banana plugs in the past that were heavy bulky metal, but these are much higher quality.What can I say, they are just great!
