This light switch and module have helped us when we feel we need the house to look more lived in when we are away. it works every time so far; however, there are times when the response time is lagging. It has more to do with the gateway or the server than the switch. Although the gateway is directly into the router and there is no issue with it being connected, it seems as though the server for "Liftmaster" is as slow as dog snot. There have been times when we have clicked on the app to turn the light switch or the lamp module on or off and it takes a good five minutes for the light to actually turn on or off. And some of those times, we are in the room waiting for it to happen.I have tried contacting Liftmaster via email and it has taken them upwards of 5 days to respond to the "24Hour" response time on their website. Further, I had suggested making all of their products, like the driveway alert, and similar products, all accessible through the gateway.One more thing. The switch is a single pole switch only. Please make one for three way or four way switches!Again, the switch and light module have work flawlessly, just slowly.

Works great with an easy set up. I didn't realize at first, but you do need the gateway that is sold separately for this to work. My two complaints so far about the product is one that the on- off button is on the front of the device. The problem is that if it is placed behind furniture and the furniture gets bumped it turns off the light. Not that big of a deal but they could move the button. Second is that the device controls power to the source. So if you use your phone to turn off the lamp and then want to turn it back on manually you can't. Also if you turn it off manually then want to use you phone to turn it on, you can't. It just needs to be used on a light that you are only going to use your phone to control. We wanted a light that we could turn off and on during vacation and placed it on a lamp we usually do not use. I also wish there was a timer function.

Works well, hoping for an upgrade.....

Product works very well. Let's me know when my programmed on and off occurs. Only limitation is that you can't turn it on and off manually once it is plugged in and if someone does turn it to off while trying to turn it on, it does not work with app. Hope they manage to resolve that.

First, the unit has a false ground (the rod below the two prongs on a plug) plastic rod. So it HAS to be plugged into a grounded outlet even though it’s not grounded. Never seen this in my life. You could just snap it off if it’s a problem, but what were they thinking? My only guess is this helps secure it to the wall better ; if that’s the case I can tell you it is complete overkill. This unit is very lightweight. The terrible decisions in plug layout do not end there. The outlet on the unit has no ground at all, just hot and neutral (the two prongs.) Which itself is not the worst (they do this so you don’t plug in anything heavy duty), but the logic here defies anything. They MAKE you plug the unit into a grounded outlet but it is IMPOSSIBLE (without an adaptor) to plug anything grounded into the unit. This is all forgivable. The real head scratcher on this is the placement of the on/off button. I can tell you with the upmost certainty that this decision was made on a Friday afternoon before a holiday weekend at LiftMaster corporate. So the unit is designed to be plugged in flat against the wall with the outlet going out of the side, so when set up the unit protrudes very little from the wall. However, as soon as a piece of furniture is placed back up against the wall, the first thing it touches is the on/off button. So you have to keep the furniture far enough away from the wall to ensure it doesn’t touch the button. Once set up, the unit performs as advertised, but definitely made sacrifices as to where and how the unit was installed.

I also bought two of the Liftmaster 823lm remote light switches to operate with my Chamberlain CIGBU Internet Gateway For MyQ Enabled Garage Door Openers and MyQ Remote Light Control. Using the MyQ app, I have scheduled the lights to turn on and off when I am not at home. They can also be manually turned off and on. Plus I can turn the lights on and off using my smart phone from anywhere I have cell service. Easy to install. Works like a charm.
