Been using a RING doorbell for a year but wanted better front of the house coverage. I thought this device would do the trick. Installation was very easy. Haven't yet decided what to with the extra cord. I will cut and splice the cord in a bit even though it will void the warranty. Here's the real story though. The device worked perfectly after I set it up. After the garage mount I never got any notifications. Also it took 5 minutes before a motion event showed up on the RING app. On the Ring doorbell my ALEXA Echo would notify immediately of n event. I spent 2 days with Amazon and RING trouble shooting. Even to the extreme of "Reset to factory specs" my new Fire HD 10 tablet. Finally today a lady from RING solved the trouble. She reset the Spotlight Camera remotely. All is now working. I switched my cloud storage account with RING from the doorbell to the camera so it still only costs me $30/year to store events. I spent a frustrating 2 days but the end result is phenomenal. This is bothersome for me to admit that Amazon RING and ALEXA are getting to be almost indispensable in my every day life. Thanks Amazon for how you have made my every day living a lot more fun !!!!

The quality of the image looks amazing it is really easy to install I actually drilled a small hole with a masonry drill bit in the concrete and cut the wire to be able to fit it in the hole. Then I re-attached the cable on the other side of the wall which is the inside of the garage and connected the plug to the outlet for the garage door opener. It sounds like a lot of work but believe me it was not. Camera works really good the quality is amazing and the sensors and night vision are on point. The fact that you can turn on the lights and the built-in siren or alarm its really good. If you see something going on outside your home and you think is not safe to go outside just turn on the alarm and that will alert whoever is outside.

This product works well. Without too much trouble, you can configure the area where you want motion detection. The camera gives a decent picture.Pay attention to this: the Ring Spotlight Cam has a substantial electrical cord; that's how it's powered. That cord hangs out of the bottom of the camera. Powering the camera from an outlet is great--you won't ever have to worry about a dead battery. But you will have a fairly fat power cable from the camera to an outlet within the cord's 25-foot length. Depending on your installation location, that may not be pretty; you may want to have an electrician install an outlet near the camera and dress the power cable in an acceptable way. And if they shorten that cable, you'll probably void the camera's warranty.

Super easy to install and tie into the rest of my Ring system, great picture and video quality, and love the color night vision. This camera is the best piece that I have in my Ring arsenal, and the refurbished model looked brand new and was packaged as such.

Simple set up, great clarity, lots of settings, intuitive to use, solid mounting system and good product support.I've owned Ring cameras for a long time (for years before Amazon acquired them in 2018. I own 7 Ring cameras including these spotlight cams, a couple of doorbell cams and one interior cam. The quality of Ring products in general has increased incrementally over the years since Amazon dished out $1 billion for them in 2018. Ironically, the geniuses on "Shark Tank" passed on funding Ring when it was a startup in 2013! The founder, Jamie Siminoff literally laughed all the way to the bank.Pro/Con of this spotlight corded model:-Simple initial camera set up-Clear image, night and day-Great adjustability via the app settings for lights, camera, motion and overall device data-Easy outdoor installation IF you have the right stuff on hand-Great cloud recording that has a flat yearly rate for 4+ cameras (I have 7 cameras)-Far better support these days than the pre-2018 merger-App works great-Camera quality overall has increased greatly since the original "Doorbell" cameras were launched. Those early doorbell models could be an enormous pain to set up, power up and install in general and there were a lot of defective models in circulation - not anymore. I've bought 4 "refurbed" Spotlight cameras and all were perfect.Con:-You need really solid WIFI bandwidth, an up to date modem and good proximity from the camera to the modem. Many of the 1 & 2 star reviews stem from lack or proper bandwidth, a junky modem or too much distance between the camera and the modem. I upped my WIFI to Verizon FiOS 1GB plus the newest FiOS modem (that's key - 1GB with an outdated modem is pointless) and all my cameras work great. BUT, if you don't have those fundamentals, you can/will have massive problems.-You need an available power outlet outside to plug this in unless you "customize" the power cord (I did that).I had to cut the 2 pronged plug off my camera to thread the wire from the outside of my home to the inside of the garage where my power source is located and then attach an after market 2 pronged plug. Not an issue for me but it could be for some folks so think ahead about your own installation or have it done professionally if you lack that Liam Neeson - like "particular set of skills".Overall, Ring cameras are vastly improved and work really well. It's impossible to address all exterior installation challenges and they do exist so be aware and prepare ahead of time. Hope that helps!

These are amazing and work great. Easy to install. Only 4 screws to mount and they give you hardware for every possible option as well as clips to secure the power cord. The power cord is long, I bought an extender and ended up not needing it. The video is great as per usual with Ring products. Wireless signal is pretty good with no issues streaming. My old house had the floodlight camera and it was bright but my new house doesn’t have the space so I went with this wired spotlight camera. The lights on these aren’t as bright as the floodlight but they can still illuminate the driveway. I already have a doorbell camera and a chime. I will be adding more of these. Great ecosystem and worth the money. Hard to find anything else this simple that just works!!
